The City will involve the community throughout the CAP planning process, however, we recognize the need to engage a select group of stakeholders and community representatives whose knowledge and experience of Gilroy will be vital to creating a successful CAP.  This group will be known as the Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC).

Specifically, the role of each member in the SAC will consist of:

  1. Review and comment of CAP documents;
  2. Review and discussion of proposed CAP performance targets and measures with other SAC members, and recommendations for energy and greenhouse gas reduction actions;
  3. Solicitation of views on the opportunities for and constraints to a successful CAP, and concerns and issue that could impact the process;
  4. Introduction of the SAC at public meetings and on this CAP website page;
  5. Meeting with Staff and the CAP consultants during the project.

After the CAP’s finalization and adoption, we hope the SAC will continue as advocates for a successful CAP implementation.

First SAC Meeting- November 8, 2010

A group of SAC members met via web meeting on November 8th to review the project’s intended outcomes and the CAP’s development process, and to begin to gather some of the information described above. The PowerPoint presentation given by Town-Green to the SAC can be downloaded as a pdf by clicking here.

Second SAC Meeting- March 10, 2011

The SAC members are meeting March 10 to review the Preferred Draft Measures and recommend a shortlist of measures to include in the CAP as well as propose any additional measures that have not been proposed but that should be included.  The City will then review the SAC's recommendations to create the Final Preferred Draft for the consultants to quantify and include in the CAP.
